About Us

So what do you get when a country boy from the mountains of Cumberland, Maryland meets a probinsyana from Los Banos, Laguna?  According to that country boy, “a cute baby!”

Well, that’s us – J and N.  We don’t have a cute baby – yet – but we plan on having a couple in the future.  We met somewhere online (J says we met on ICQ – does anyone still remember that old chat platform?) in 2003 and saw each other face to face in 2005.  We have not been apart since then.

Who would have thought that two strangers from the opposite sides of the world would end up together? We have been married for almost 3 years now and we currently reside in the Philippines.

In this blog, we offer you some glimpses into the juxtaposition of two different lives, two different cultures.  We’re not that different, though.  We both love good food.  We love to travel – by car, plane, or boat, it doesn’t matter.  We love video games, movies, and music.  And most of all, we love sharing these things with each other.

Being in a cross-cultural marriage is not as hard as some make it out to be – or is it?  Join us in this rollercoaster ride called marriage.
